Justice Upheld is delighted to report that Indian national Mr Pankaj Gupta who left India in 1996 and inadvertently crossed the then porous border between India and Pakistan, into Pakistan whereupon he was arrested.
Following his dubious conviction for ‘espionage’, Mr Gupta was subsequently sentenced to an undetermined period of imprisonment in around 2004 despite having already spent over two years on remand before his ‘trial’. Having spent in excess of fourteen years in a Pakistani prison, Mr Pankaj Gupta was released and reunited with his family in India on Saturday 2nd of July 2016.
