We reported on the 30th of August, 2016 the cases of the Indian nationals enslaved and held hostage by an Iraqi gang master.
Despite repeated requests for the Indian authorities to intervene, they do not seem to appreciate the urgency or comprehend the fact that criminal acts are being perpetrated against their fellow nationals. It is of considerable concern that the Indian authorities have failed to identify and recognise that the acts of the gang master against the work migrants workers amount to criminal behaviour and they the Indian authorities must intervene on behalf of their fellow nationals.
We understand today that group of the men held hostage were today deliberately deprived of food and water by the gang master despite temperatures in Iraq currently being in excess of 51 degrees centigrade.
